The Fourth Letter

Summary/Abstract: The article is a counterclaim to Stefan Cazimir’s assertion entitled “The Third Letter” published in the “Romania Literara”30/2002 and concerning the orthography approved by the Romanian Academy. The etymology of the form “sunt” of the verb “a fi” (to be) is given a thorough examination meant to support the Academy’s decision.
