Summary/Abstract: Professional sport, and football in particular, is traditionally dominated by men, but for several years efforts have been made to increase the participation of women in this area, both in terms of actively practicing this sport and participating in accompanying activities, e.g. commenting on sport events. The subject of the study is the specificity of commenting in terms of the conversational strategies used. The study, embedded in the methodology of communicative grammar, aims to identify communication activities appropriate for the conversational strategies used by the commentary duo in television broadcasts of women’s and men’s football matches. The research material consists of broadcasts of selected matches played in 2021, obtained from (sport.tvp. pl/retransmisje).
