Summary/Abstract: This contribution aims to analyze the state of French language teaching in the law departments of the University of Bejaia. It will examine the reality of French as well as the usefulness and context of its use in the professional lives of lawyers. Methodologically, the work will consist of launching two research questionnaires, one for teachers, the other for lawyers practicing in the field of law. Our research objective is to identify the didactic content provided by French teachers and to identify the expected purposes of teaching this language in relation to the needs and professional reality of lawyers. We will also go beyond scientific investigation to present the research results and propose some didactic avenues that essentially take into account the discursive, enunciative, and linguistic aspects of legal discourse.
