Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the changes taking place in the ecosystem and their impact on the psycho-physical well-being of the inhabitants of Jalisco, considering their perceptions of the indicated transformations. In this article, I take a closer look at selected concepts of health, well-being and illness, and analyze specific cases of environmental pollution in Mexico. I then confront the found sources with the statements of the interviewees who presented their perspectives on the aforementioned topics. At the same time, I try to take into account the cultural meaning of the concepts indicated, which may or may not coincide with their biomedical definition.
