Summary/Abstract: Communication in psychiatry is a multifaceted process in which language serves simultaneously as a means of assessment and as a therapeutic instrument. This article explores the theoretical foundations of linguistic analysis applied to verbal interaction in the medical context, highlighting the role of speech acts, conversational implicatures, and politeness strategies in creating a collaborative and ethical relationship. Concrete examples inspired by doctoral research illustrate the ways in which language facilitates the negotiation of meaning, reduces communicative asymmetry, and supports the therapeutic process. The analysis underscores the need to integrate linguistic approaches into professional training and psychiatric practice, as well as their relevance for optimizing clinical communication and therapeutic outcomes.
