The author applies Wolfgang Iser’s concept of Leerstellen (“gaps”) to the broader literary field, revealing the “suspended” zones of Bulgarian culture not as absences but as potentials for critical and creative interaction. Minkov combines historical and sociocultural analysis to construct a dynamic model of literary reception and transformation.
