Summary/Abstract: This article explores the pedagogical potential of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a tool for guiding young children’s behaviour in early childhood education. By drawing on the imaginative and morally charged episodes of the narrative, the study illustrates how fantasy can be employed to foster prosocial attitudes, emotional understanding, and self-regulation in kindergarten settings. The contrasting behaviours of the child charactersranging from greed and impatience to kindness and humilityoffer clear opportunities for teachers to initiate discussions about consequences, empathy, and positive choices. Through an analysis of key scenes and character traits, the article demonstrates that fantasy literature provides a safe and engaging framework through which young children can explore ethical dilemmas, reflect on their own actions, and internalise foundational social values. The findings suggest that integrating imaginative storytelling into early years pedagogy enriches both cognitive and moral development, supporting children in becoming thoughtful and responsible members of the classroom community.
