Participation of the laity in the Priesthood of Jesus Christ according to polish Church songs

Summary/Abstract: This article presents selected Polish church songs found in contemporary liturgical songbooks. They shape the priestly identity of Catholics participating in the liturgy of the Mass and the sacraments. The first part of the article presents content emphasising the unique priesthood of Jesus Christ and the priesthood associated with the sacrament of Holy Orders. The second part of the article highlights fragments of songs referring to the universal priesthood of all the baptised. The third part presents the content of church songs that indicate the tasks of the lay faithful resulting from their participation in the common priesthood of the people of God.
