Summary/Abstract: The initiatory journey of the king of Uruk, from “The Epic of Gilgamesh”, towards immortality will confirm for him the futility of seeking an attribute meant to belong only to the absolute world, towards which humans strive without divine support, since between human and god, a horizon of power, knowledge, and mystery must be preserved. The human being receives the mystery of earthly creation, but ephemeral and subject to change. Through this initiatory journey, the hero of the epic undergoes a profound transformation, passing through moments of crisis, trials, and revelations that lead him toward a higher state of consciousness and identity. The liminal elements, the symbolism of intermediate spaces, and the encounters with ambivalent characters mark the stages of initiation, emphasizing the tension between the known and the mysterious world.
