Summary/Abstract: The article examines the main stages of the biography, political and scientific career of the leaders of the revolutionary movement in Western Belarus in the 20–30s of the 20th century, the Belarusian Soviet historian Nikolai Orekhvo and the polish historian Alexandra Bergman who, in the second half of the 20th century, were the most authoritative specialists in the scientific and historical-science community of Western Belarus. A comparative analysis of their biographies and basic scientific works made it possible to reveal the essential differences in the fundamental aspects of the history of Western Belarus, in the consideration of which N. Orekhvo hailed from a Belarusian Soviet background and A. Bergman shared Polish national-state priorities.
