Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the concept of "sensory environment", defines the features of the competence approach in the direction of professional training of future educators to create a sensory development environment in preschool education institutions, specifies the ways and means of effective training of students for professional activities in the sensory development of preschool children. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the requirements for the competence of specialists in creating a sensory environment and the methods of its formation in the educational process. The importance of the development of professional competences among specialists has been studied, in particular, deep knowledge about the peculiarities of children’s sensory development, the ability to effectively create stimulating sensory materials and game situations, the ability to use modern pedagogical technologies in this field, etc. It was established that the optimization of the process of professional training of preschool teachers to work with children in the direction of creating and developing a sensory development environment is also facilitated by the creation of conditions for continuous self-education of teachers, participation in seminars, projects, professional webinars on sensory development and sensory integration of preschoolers, internships, exchange of experience, etc. The author examines the methods and teaching methods aimed at developing the sensory culture of preschool children and increasing their level of cognitive development. The article also provides practical recommendations for pedagogical workers and methodologists of preschool education institutions on improving preparation for working with children in a sensory environment.
