Summary/Abstract: This article explores the socio-economic situation of the Greek Catholic clergy in Galicia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, drawing upon materials from the newspaper"Ruslan". During this period, the Greek Catholic Church served as one of the key institutions for preserving the national identity of Ukrainians within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Consequently, the issue of financial support for the clergy gained strategic importance for the Ukrainian community. The article highlights the role of the clergy in advancing social, educational, and cultural initiatives and examines their efforts to improve living and working conditions through interaction with governmental and parliamentary structures.
