Summary/Abstract: Since the beginning of the war in 2022, the European Union has granted temporary protection status to Ukrainian refugees, offering a unique legal framework that differs significantly from conventional asylum systems. This paper examines the reception of Ukrainian refugees in France, analysing their legal status, social integration, access to employment, and long-term prospects. Although France mobilised substantial public and civic resources to welcome Ukrainians, particularly women with children, the integration process reveals several structural barriers. Drawing on the concept of transnationalism, the article highlights the ambivalent policies of host states and the mismatch between expectations and realities on both sides.
