Summary/Abstract: This article presents a multifaceted analysis of the spirituality of the heart as conceptualised by Cardinal Tomáš Špidlík SJ, one of the most eminent scholars of Eastern Christian theology and a pioneer of ecumenical dialogue. At the core of Špidlík’s thought lies the “anthropology of the heart” — a concept deeply rooted in the tradition of the Greek Fathers, Russian religious philosophy, and Catholic spirituality, offering a holistic understanding of the human person as a bodily-spiritual being open to Transcendence. The aim of this study is to present the “spirituality of the heart” not only as a theological reflection but also as a space for real and constructive ecumenical dialogue, capable of overcoming historical divisions in Christianity. It also proposes this concept as a viable foundation for contemporary philosophical and theological anthropology. Ultimately, the text argues that the spirituality of the heart offers a path toward spiritual renewal in both Eastern and Western Christian traditions.
