Summary/Abstract: The article presents a collection of unique documents related to the 19th-century Polish political emigration, preserved in the Special Collections Department of the “V.A. Urechia” Library in Galați. Among them are letters, brochures, invitations, and notes written in French, Polish, German, and Russian, dating from the late 18th to the second half of the 19th century. The author discusses their content, authorship, and historical context, emphasizing their documentary and cultural value. Particular attention is given to correspondence and autographs by figures such as Józef Bem, Józef Dwernicki, Antoni Ostrowski, Ksawery Bronikowski, Leonard Niedźwiecki, and Leonard Chodźko. The analysis of these materials sheds light on the network of contacts, political activities, and everyday life of Polish émigrés in Paris, while also reflecting the interest of the library’s founder, Vasile Alexandrescu Urechia, in Polish history and culture. This collection represents an important source for research on Polish-Romanian relations and the history of the Great Emigration.
