Summary/Abstract: Interactive systems are playing an increasingly pivotal role in the transformation of modern education, reshaping the methods of teaching and learning. This article traces the historical development of these technologies from early mechanical and electromechanical devices to today’s digital, mobile, and AI-based platforms. The analysis includes examples from both Bulgarian and international contexts, as well as a comparative overview of leading educational solutions. Particular attention is given to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated digitalization and prompted the adoption of new pedagogical approaches. The article examines key advantages of interactive systems, such as personalized learning, increased student engagement, and expanded access to knowledge. At the same time, it identifies challenges related to infrastructure, equitable access, need for teacher training, and ethical issues concerning personal data processing. The social and pedagogical dimensions of digital transformation are also discussed, including the evolving role of teachers and the development of digital competencies. In conclusion, the article provides recommendations for the sustainable and ethical integration of emerging technologies, emphasizing the importance of a balanced approach between innovation and tradition for the future of education.
