Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the initial moments of Group T, the most important artists' group in the late 1980s and early 1990s Soviet Estonia. Focusing on the first manifesto of the group and on its first exhibition at the courtyard of Adamson-Eric Museum the article maps the motives behind forming the group and its self-assuring rhetorics. The material at hand reveals that Group T was conceptualising its activities as an initiator of programmatic cultural rupture and the creator of a discussion space.
