Summary/Abstract: The main objective of the study was to estimate average values of energy intake by different methodologies for adults with different levels of motor activity. To achieve the goal, the norms of energy intake in the last three regulations for physiological norms of nutrition of the population were studied and compared with daily energy intake / expenditure assessed using five different methodologies. An updating of the terminological apparatus referring to the degree of increase in the basic exchange according to motor activity was found. In this regard, we could deduce as a first recommendation: the new concepts in the normative documents, under the influence of foreign language sources, to be introduced with clearly formulated definitions. As a result of the analysis for estimation of daily energy intake/energy consumption, we consider the use of a combined approach asmost appropriate whereby the main exchange is calculated with the classical method 1 kcal/kg/min for men and 0.9 kcal/kg/min for women or with the Harris-Benedict regression equations. In order to minimize subjectivity in determining the coefficient of physical activity, we recommend the method of chronometry according to tables of energy consumption for labor, household, and sports activities developed in cal or kcal [16, 17s], which we find more easily applicable and reliable than analogous in metabolic units (METs).
