THE POWER OF WORD ON THE POWER OF INTERNET A ROMANIAN JOURNALIST EDITORIAL

Summary/Abstract: June, 2010: a Google search for Romanian pages shows the article “An Ode to America” is referred to 16,000 posts.1 The leading article “An Ode to America” (by Cornel Nistorescu, manager of the Evenimentul zilei Romanian newspaper) was regarded as a “global phenomenon,” a milestone in media communication, a particular example of surprising success. This paper makes an attempt to understand and clarify this special event in media communication 10 years after the phenomenon took place. We will try to make an inventory and see through the context the mechanisms that make the phenomenon possible.
