Summary/Abstract: Karabük became the 78th province of Turkey on June 6, 1995. The first deputies of Karabük were elected in the general elections held on December 24, 1995 to determine the deputies of the 20th Term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. According to the election results, the deputies who entered the Assembly from Karabük were elected from the True Path Party, the Democratic Left Party and the Welfare Party. One of the 3 deputies who would represent Karabük in the 20th Term of the Assembly was Şinasi Altıner, who was elected as the Karabük Deputy from the DYP. Şinasi Altıner went down in history as one of the first deputies of Karabük. This study aims to reveal the biography of Şinasi Altıner, one of the first deputies of Karabük, and the proposals, bills, committee activities and speeches he made in the 20th Term of the Assembly.
