Summary/Abstract: The newspaper “Azat Kirim”, which represented the Crimean Tatar press during the Second World War, at first glance gives the impression that it was used as a propaganda tool of the German occupation administration. However, when the content presented by the newspaper, which was published under the presidency of the Akmescid Muslim Committee, is evaluated with a holistic approach, it determined the agenda of the society in the process of rebuilding the Crimean Tatar national identity, cultural heritage and religious life. In this sense, the newspaper undertook the mission of repairing the damage caused by the policies of the Soviet regime that destroyed national and religious values in line with its articles and news focusing on the Tatar Turks. In this study, the articles and news that the newspaper, which started its publication life on January 11, 1942 and continued until April 1944, will be evaluated in terms of its efforts to revive national memory.
