Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of this study is to determine the mediating role of job stress in job satisfaction and turnover intention of kitchen employees. Design/methodology/approach – In this research, quantitative research method, which aims to reach measurable results through objective data, was preferred. In this research, a questionnaire form was used as a data collection tool. The questionnaire form prepared within the scope of the research was delivered to the participants online via Google Forms and the data collection process was carried out through this platform. Valid data from a total of 371 people were used. Results – In the analyses conducted for kitchen employees, it was determined that job satisfaction has a statistically significant effect on turnover intention. However, it has been revealed that job stress plays a mediating role in this relationship and that decreased job satisfaction strengthens turnover intention through increased stress level. Discussion – The research results showed that job satisfaction had a significant effect on the intention to leave the job, and hypothesis H1 was accepted accordingly. In addition, it was determined that job stress played a partial mediating role in this relationship, and hypothesis H2 was also supported. The findings are consistent with similar studies in the literature.
