Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of turnover intention in the effect of innovative work behavior on individual job performance among individuals working in the healthcare sector. Design/methodology/approach - This research was designed as a cross-sectional study involving 252 participants working in the healthcare sector in Istanbul. During the data collection process, 'Innovative Work Behavior,' 'Individual Job Performance,' and 'Turnover Intention' scales were used. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25 and AMOS software to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scales, as well as the relationships and effects among the variables. Findings – The findings reveal that innovative work behaviors enhance individual job performance and reduce turnover intention. Additionally, it was found that turnover intention plays a mediating role in the relationship between innovative work behavior and job performance. Discussion – These results indicate that promoting innovative behaviors is critical for managers in the healthcare sector to improve employee performance and reduce turnover intentions.
