Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyse British trade in Odessa. The British consular missions were responsible for overseeing trade and protecting subjects of Great Britain. The establishment of a British consulate at the Black Sea was based on commercial policy. With the new free-port status of Odessa declared by the Russian authorities in 1819, we will conduct a quantitative analysis of British goods imported to and exported from Odessa, while also seeking to establish the significance of the port of Odessa in Great Britain's trade policy. The analysis of commercial information will be compared with data from specialized studies regarding the trade policy of Great Britain, allowing us to draw conclusions from the perspective of economic history.
