The Digital Competence Challenge - Transformations in Learning and Teaching Processes

Summary/Abstract: A constant part of quality education of 21st century is knowing digital technology, the ability to handle it, understanding the risks of digital communication, as well as learning with the help of the new possibilities of digital media. Digital competency is a priority in the development vision of the European educational space. E-learning and its varieties, conditioned by the rapid development of technology, becoming more and more intense in global education. The article presents current aspects of e-learning, which would help build digital competence in the field of learning and teaching. Special attention is paid to mobile learning and massive open online courses.
