European Union - A Potential Leader In Artificial Intelligence Legislation

Summary/Abstract: The desire of the European Union to establish itself as a world leader in the field of artificial intelligence led to the adoption of the first Artificial Intelligence Act (AIА). With this innovative regulatory text, the EU is attempting to change the risk management model from reactive to proactive. The objective of this article is to explore the potential of this legislative act to become a global standard for AI regulation, based on an analysis of existing and potential challenges, as well as possible legislative solutions. The applied research methodology is content analysis of normative documents, scientific publications and scientific articles.
