Summary/Abstract: This review discusses A Book on the Bulgarian Language by Assoc. Prof. Lilia Manolo-va, which presents the author’s long-term research in the fields of contemporary Bulgar-ian, standard language usage, and Bulgarian terminology. The volume is organised into four sections. In the first part, Lilia Manolova shares memories of her teachers, as well as her concerns regarding contemporary public speech. The second one addresses various issues related to linguistic normativity, illustrated with carefully selected examples. The articles in the third section are devoted to Bulgarian writers and scholars who have contributed to the preservation of the Bulgarian language. The fourth part focuses on the history and current state of the Bulgarian language.
