Summary/Abstract: Purpose of the French horn professional training is the assimilation of a basic virtuoso repertoire showing the skills of the instrumentalist in different forums. French horn solo concerts are composed in different epochs, from Baroque to the present, with a number of representative, “obligatory” concerts, with which the pedagogue must “skip the barrier”, bring its students to the level- of the best achievements of performing mastery. The theme of this report deals with elements of the instrumental language for French horn and Orchestra in the two repertoire concerts - Concerto No 4, E major by W.A.Mozart- KV 495 and Concerto No 1, E flat major, opus 11 by Richard Strauss, an important issue for french horn art. The performance issues, and the difficulties the interpreter has to overcome, are examined.
