Summary/Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the impact of Law No. 6552 on the social insurance status of domestic workers in Turkey. Following the enactment of the law in 2015, a notable increase was observed in the number of registered workers in domestic services during the initial years. However, this upward trend was not sustained, and the registration rate began to decline again. Using data from SGK (Social Security Institution) and EUROSTAT, the period between 2012 and 2023 was analyzed, and annual registration rates were calculated. Furthermore, the study examines whether these rates are influenced solely by legal regulations or also by structural factors such as minimum wage levels and inflation. Applying the Difference-in-Differences (DID) method, a comparative analysis was conducted using treatment and control groups. The findings indicate that the legal reform produced a short-term positive effect, but the level of registration remains sensitive to broader economic conditions.
