Summary/Abstract: Writing a book which was intended as a remembrance of forgotten students of agricultural sciences from the Krakow university centre, who fell a hundred years ago, was a process: from finding a sheet of paper (an exhibit of the Museum of the University of Agriculture) with the names of students of the College of Agriculture at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jagiellonian University (fallen in the years 1914–1921), through a poster exhibition prepared on the occasion of the inauguration of the 2018/2019 academic year, for the centenary of Poland’s independence, up to the publication of the monograph. The creative process lasted four years. It concluded with a meeting promoting the book (150 copies of the monograph were printed, of which the Publisher sent the required number of legal deposit copies to designated libraries) with the participation of members of the families of the fallen described. The participants of the meeting were united by the commemorated persons and the period described, as well as by the theme of agriculture and the historic building, which remembers the times of the First World War. We were within the same walls, we walked the same corridors, we passed through the same gate through which the students described had left the University building for the last time, to join various military formations (chosen or imposed). The meeting took place in a solemn atmosphere and a personal, emotional mood. The session was recorded. This article is an attempt to transfer the audio record into a printed version.
