Summary/Abstract: Cognitive hegemony refers to the systemic, institutionalized and strategically constructed dominance over epistemic infrastructures that shape how individuals, societies and institutions perceive, interpret, validate and respond to reality. It transcends the scope of psychological warfare, soft power, sociology, psychology and intelligence studies by targeting not behavior itself but the epistemic frameworks that make certain behaviors, preferences and identities conceivable. This article argues that cognitive hegemony must be institutionalized as an independent scientific discipline due to its unique theoretical scope, interdisciplinary relevance and critical value for national security. The study develops a high-level conceptual definition, differentiates cognitive hegemony from related domains, proposes a methodological architecture and presents a strategic institutionalization model for Türkiye. It concludes that establishing cognitive hegemony studies as a formal field will enhance Türkiye’s cognitive security, strengthen its epistemic sovereignty and expand its ability to project influence regionally and globally in the ongoing competition over meaning, narrative and perception.
