Summary/Abstract: The article provides a thorough review of the differences in the stage performance of the Peking and European operas, as an important part in the comparative analysis of the characteristics of the two operas. For the purposes of the article, the author first analyzes the differences in the cultural foundations and philosophical concepts embedded in the two operas, and then describes in detail the main differences in stage performance in three aspects – expressive forms, expressive methods, and center of performance.
