Features of musical creation in Bellini‘s operas: the melodic development in Bellini

Summary/Abstract: Bellini is one of the brightest artists in the bel canto style in the 19th century. A characteristic feature of his work is the so-called „Bellini‘s melodica“. The present article presents and analyzes the composer‘s methods in the unfolding of Bellini‘s melody on the example of the aria „Casta Diva“ (Casta Diva) from the opera „Norma“. I hope that the text will be useful for vocal performers and help them to more fully absorb Bellini‘s style and improve their vocal skills.
