Presentation and analysis of the first violin teaching manual created by a chinese pedagogue in the 20th Century

Summary/Abstract: Over the past hundred years, violin teaching in China has made extraordinary progress. Chinese violinists have won prestigious and numerous awards, and have received glowing reviews from their performances on the world concert music stage. All this testifies that violin teaching in the Republic of China has reached a high level of development. How the foundations of this training were laid is an interesting question. This question is answered in this article, which examines the first historically documented violin textbook by a Chinese author, Xiao Yumei's Violin Textbook.
