Summary/Abstract: The ar cle is part of the ongoing interna onal theore cal debate on affi xoidal compounds.It adds new insights to the current literature on the subject with respect to problems ininterpreta on that arise when describing structures of this type in Polish. The author presentsvarious perspec ves on such issues as the status of affi xoids, the boundary between affi xes andaffi xoids, the interpreta on of the -o- and -i- vowels, or the dis nc on between mul -core two-segmental and mul -segmental compounds. Overall, he concludes that it is vital to be aware thatthe interpre ve assump ons made will aff ect the results of empirical studies.
