Summary/Abstract: This report examines the line not only as a visual tool, but also as a cultural marker – a carrier of meanings, identities and stylistic paradigms in different artistic traditions. The study emphasizes the diversity in the use of linear expression in drawing, tracing how variations in the character of the line – from constructive to plastic – express aesthetic, symbolic and ethnocultural specificities. Examples from the European classical tradition and contemporary authorial practices are presented, analyzing how the line exists simultaneously as a structural element and as a carrier of cultural sensitivity. In the context of the celebrations related to the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity, the report highlights the importance of visual linguistics and its local expressions within the global artistic scene.
