Summary/Abstract: This study examines the implications and applicability of European classical vocal breathing techniques, such as diaphragmatic support and deep abdominal breathing, to Chinese national vocal music. These techniques enhance breath control and provide effective support for complex melodies and demanding passages. In contrast, traditional Chinese vocal techniques, which emphasize chest-abdomen combined breathing, excel in natural flow and clear diction but face limitations in high-register stability and sustained phrases. By analyzing the core principles of European breathing techniques and their challenges in national vocal practices, this study proposes pathways for integrating these techniques with the linguistic and aesthetic characteristics of Chinese vocal music, thereby improving performance capabilities and fostering global competitiveness.
