Summary/Abstract: The opera and ballet stages in XVIII and XIX century in America were dominated by Italian dancers, the prominent dance schools of the time were run by Italian teachers who laid the foundation of Italian ballet technique on a new generation of American dancers. Ballet teachers and master such as Maria Bonfanti, Malvina Cavallazzi, Luigi Albertieri made possible the inception and birth of American ballet school.
