Summary/Abstract: The article describes the professional activity of engineer Elie Radu as a railway designer and builder from the late 1870s to the second decade of the 19th century, in correlation with that of Italian architect Giulio Magni, who lived in Romania between 1893/1894 and 1904, being employed by the City Hall of Bucharest and the Ministry of Public Works, respectively, where Elie Radu was head of the Service, then of the General Direction (Department) of Studies and Construction (which became the General Direction (Department) of Bridges, Roads, Studies and Construction). The collaboration between the two resulted in the construction of the railway stations in Curtea de Argeș (1898) and Comănești (ca. 1900), as well as the Elie Radu Halt (or Brusturoasa, 1901–1902). Beyond the technical details regarding the aforementioned buildings, the article also discusses several events, incidents, and facts of life that took place within the historical walls of the “twin” railway stations of Curtea de Argeș and Comănești.
