Summary/Abstract: Logotherapy is a dignity-centered psychotherapy appropriate for those who suffer. In this study I examine the essence of logotherapy, founded by Prof. Viktor Frankl. This therapy is oriented toward values and meaning. Most people find meaning in family relationships, creativity, and work. When experiential and creative values are obstructed, one can still find and confer meaning even upon suffering. This implies always being able to adopt a stance toward pain and to stand “above” it. Suffering and guilt become meaningful if one aspires to become someone else. Logotherapy provides consolation, seeks free spaces, and helps the individual discover meaning – even in suffering – and traverse it with dignity, directed not toward oneself but toward something or someone else
