Summary/Abstract: This article examines music as a universal cultural phenomenon, present in every society, which not only contributes to the construction of identity and the preservation of collective memory, but also acts as a means of connecting different social and ethnic groups. It transmits values, traditions and emotional messages that build continuity between generations and cultural layers. In this context, music is emphasized not simply as a form of artistic expression, but as a factor for cultural interaction. The aim of the article is to present the idea of cultural coexistence and mutual enrichment between the different ethnic groups in Bulgaria, with a focus on the Roma community. Despite a number of social and economic challenges, the Roma have managed to preserve and develop a rich musical tradition that reflects both authentic cultural characteristics and adaptability to external influences. The musical heritage of the Roma community has a tangible impact on Bulgarian folklore and the contemporary scene. It intertwines rhythms, improvisational techniques and emotional depth, which often inspire performers outside the community itself. In this sense, Roma music is a kind of bridge between the traditional and the modern, between different groups in society. Furthermore, an attempt is made to summarize the influence of the Roma musical tradition on the formation of Bulgarian cultural identity. Its role in enriching national musical diversity and promoting intercommunal understanding is emphasized.
