Summary/Abstract: This article explores the Eucharist as a sacrament of healing, offering pro-found insights into how Christ’s real presence in the Blessed Sacrament strengthens, restores, and sustains the faithful amid suffering, brokenness, and the trials of life.Drawing from Sacred Scripture, the Church Fathers, and the lived tradition of theChurch, the author reflects on how the Eucharist is not only the memorial of Christ’ssacrifice but also His enduring remedy for the wounded soul. The Eucharist—prefig-ured in Elijah’s journey, revealed in the Last Supper, and extended to us daily—offersdivine consolation and strength, especially for those weary from life’s burdens. Thissacrament is shown to be both viaticum and “medicine of immortality”, healingthrough communion with Christ, the Wounded Healer, who enters our suffering withredemptive love. The article addresses today’s growing despair, including the crisis ofmeaning in suffering and the temptation to despair of life itself. Rooted in a Eucharisticspirituality, it calls the Church to accompany all those who are spiritually or physicallyailing, and affirms the Eucharist’s power to bring peace, reconciliation, and hope, evenunto death. It is an invitation to rediscover the healing grace of Holy Communion andto approach the altar not merely as a ritual, but as a transformative encounter with theDivine Physician.
