Summary/Abstract: The history of Nagymagyar (Zlaté Klasy, Slovakia) dates back from its first mention in 1239 until the modern era. The settlement was part of various estates and was granted market town status from the 17th century. The composition of the population continuously changed, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries, with the dominance of the Hungarian population. In recent decades, however, the growth of the Roma and Slovak populations has become increasingly significant, particularly the Roma community in the 21st century. These population changes have had a considerable impact on the political and social life of the municipality, especially concerning the transformation of minority identities and their interactions with one another.
