Summary/Abstract: Romanian popular culture and civilization in the Covasna area, the perimeter with so rich pastoral traditions, preserves a rich ethnographic heritage, both material and spiritual. This article researches to describe some of the old beliefs of the shepherds from Covasna: magico-religious practices used against predators and nature, for the growth and well-being of flocks, including sacrifices, both animal and human. But, above all this, along with non-stop work, faith in God seems tobe the most important practice able to defend man and the animal he cares for.
