Summary/Abstract: The article analyses how personnel policy towards the officer corps of the Armed Forces of the Polish People’s Republic evolved during the 1970s and 1980s. The author examines a range of orders documents and directives issued by the command structures of the army at the time, paying particular attention to the dy¬namics of the evolving personnel policy. At the same time, he evaluates and draws conclusions from the Accelerated Development Programme experiment.
