Contours of Anna Rău-Lehotská’s authorial strategy

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to characterize the specific authorial strategy employed by Anna Rău-Lehotská in her literary work. Based on an analysis of her poetic and prose texts, we observe the techniques the author uses in her treatment of themes and development of motifs. We attempt to describe the way in which she creates and organizes her texts and builds relationships between their individual parts. We note that she chooses artistic means, genre elements, and style, using certain inspirational impulses relevant to achieving her authorial intentions and goals. These are varied: to evoke emotions and reflections on the transience of being, to resolve a personal problem, to express an opinion on social issues. At the same time, the question of the reader’s position within the literary communication evoked by these texts also arises as worthy of attention.
