Summary/Abstract: The article examines the literary columnist activity of Mircea V. Ciobanu, who establishes himself as a distinct critical voice in contemporary literature from the Republic of Moldova, through a polemical, analytical and rigorous approach. His literary columnist activity is distinguished by several key elements: the culture of argument, the polemical spirit, the temptation of comparability, the essayistic tone, the playfulness, intransigence, irony, sarcasm and even cynicism. For three decades, his columns have constantly questioned the quality of poetry, prose, dramaturgy and literary criticism, promoting a demanding and involved attitude, meant to dynamize literary life and combat imposture and superficiality.
