Summary/Abstract: The name of Peter Macsovszky is central to the development of contemporary Slovak poetry. In connection with his work and that of several of his contemporaries, some of whom are like-minded authors, literary studies has introduced the term “text generation”. The text becomes a central category for these poets, whose experimentalism extends even to the authorial figure. In this article, we examine Macsovszky’s poetic mystification, created through his book Twilight of Chastity (Súmrak cudnosti, 1996), published under the female pseudonym Petra Malúchová. We analyse the collection within the broader context of women’s writing in the 1990s, with particular attention to the work of Nora Ružičková and Mila Haugová.
