Summary/Abstract: Dionysius Divni, a disciple of Theodosius of Tarnovo and associate of Patriarch Euthymius, is considered the most gifted translator among the representatives of the fourteenth-century Tarnovo Literary School, yet to date there has been no comprehensive lexical study of any of his translations that would illustrate this fact in detail. The article examines the new meanings and the lexemes, unattested in the classical Old Bulgarian manuscripts, that the scholar from the Kefalarevo scriptorium uses in the Middle Bulgarian translation of St John Chrysostom‘s Homilies against the Anomoeans. Since it turns out that Dionysius Divni’s contribution to the development of the Bulgarian lexical system is indeed significant and remarkable, fully justifying his epithet, this study focuses solely on the lexemes that begin with the letter B.
