Summary/Abstract: The consumption of religious goods is one of the most interesting dimensions of religiosity. Do believers see the items sold in church shops as guarantees for their own health or do they rather regard these items as a simple and accessible instrument for the stabilization of their uncertain existential horizon? Does religious consumption stimulate Christians who do not belong to a parish to circumvent the priests’ mediation and the participation in church services, by providing them with a direct connection to the sacred? Have the young generations developed an “orthodox” lifestyle with certain aesthetic dimensions? Teodora Karamelska is searching answers to these questions by interviewing a sales assistant in a church shop.
